I have heard these words in my spirit: “Don’t get distracted.”
Could the distraction be, returning to the old routines that were non-productive in reaching the lost? It is said that, “Crisis gives birth to change.” This pandemic has made us deeply and profoundly aware of the lostness of men and women without God. How many lives have passed into eternity without God?
Don’t get distracted by darkness, decay and death. If Jesus is not the light, there is no light. If Jesus is not the life, there is no life.
Can we be completely open to our purpose of presenting Jesus without attacking others, even when they are attacking us? We are against sin, the devil is bad and evil is real. Hatred is real. Racism is real. Hell is real. But Jesus is the answer; without Him, there is no answer.
Spiritual awakening is not coming; it’s here. We don’t have to run from the difficult questions or get distracted by them. Change in crisis starts by changing the heart. The heart can easily get distracted.
Until you ask the right questions, you will never get the correct answers. Is the world’s heart more open to asking the right questions than God’s people are open to asking what is on the heart and mind of the Lord?
The world is distracted by bickering over who is at fault for the coronavirus deaths over the last few months. As leaders, we must focus on the One who gives life instead of on fixing blame. In the weeks ahead, as everything begins to open again, we cannot allow ourselves to get distracted and miss the supernatural harvest God has in front of us.
John wrote, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:4-5). Jesus is the light, and in Him is life, love, faith and hope, but outside of Him is death, selfishness, doubt, fear and confusion.
The world around us is changing daily, but let’s refuse to get distracted. Choose to fix your eyes on Jesus. If we become distracted by darkness and complaining, we will miss a tremendous opportunity for harvest before the coming of the Lord. Yes, there are signs everywhere of His return. But before His return, we must openly show His grace and power to a lost and dying world.
Is COVID-19 in 2020 the beginning waves of the tsunami that is coming?
You are beautiful. I see Jesus in you.
Have a great week!
